Facts, Concepts and Patterns of Life—Or How to Change Things with Words

In his last writings, Wittgenstein repeatedly addresses the question of how our concepts relate to general facts nature or human and they are embedded in lives. doing so, he uses term “pattern life”, characterizing complicated relationship between lives “are connected with what interests us, matters us” (LWPP II, 46). But who is this “us”, whose manifest we use designate patterns life? What if certain concepts—or their absence—are exclusionary, discriminatory, otherwise unjust those not “us”? paper, I want discuss Wittgenstein’s notion life” its interweaving facts, life, concepts, as well political implications. To end, will first outline concept formation drew it writings. Based on this, argue that pattern life capture “social facts”. Going beyond drawing recent feminist epistemology, raise implications concomitant social “conceptual injustices”. Finally, show imagining other conceptual worlds can help us reveal prejudices injustices lead change new may ultimately even “things”, i.e., thinking, judging acting world.
